Wix Masterclass: Create a Stunning Wix Site
Nader Nadernejad · Multimedia Producer and Marketing Expert
A working Wix agency owner shows practical builder tricks in under an hour, but the delivery is rough and the SEO advice is thin.
Wix Masterclass promises a full tour of building a site on Wix, and for its 58 minutes it mostly delivers on the basics. The instructor runs his own marketing agency off a Wix site and uses that site as a running example throughout, cutting between his fully built agency page and a demo site he builds from scratch, an ice cream parlor template reworked partway through into a dog boarding business. That switching is meant to show both a finished result and a live build, but it also makes the course feel unplanned, as if lessons were recorded without a fixed idea of what the final demo site would even be.
What the course actually covers
The early lessons are pure orientation: where templates live, how the drag and drop editor highlights elements on hover, how to sign up and attach a custom domain. From there it moves into header and footer editing, showing how to rename menu items, delete unwanted pages, and drop a logo into the header. The footer segment is the most useful stretch of the course, walking through how to swap the default Wix copyright credit for a personal note that links to a second site, framed explicitly as a way to generate an easy backlink. Later lessons cover adding shapes and icons, importing photos and video backgrounds, building a lightbox popup for a welcome message or promotion, and dragging a pre-built contact form strip into place with mandatory fields. A blog and a Wix Store get their own lessons, both shown at a surface level: creating posts, deleting sample content, sorting store items into collections like ebooks or physical goods.
Where it comes up short
The SEO material is the weakest link. The keyword advice amounts to picking a long-tail phrase like "dog boarding in Toronto Ontario" and repeating it two or three times across the page, plus filling in the page title field. There's no discussion of meta descriptions, alt text, site structure, or measuring results. The backlinks lesson goes further into questionable territory, recommending buying links from Fiverr sellers advertising specific domain authority scores, a tactic that skews more toward manipulating rankings than earning them and carries real risk of a Google penalty. Anyone expecting the "Wix SEO" and "Backlinks" lessons promised in the syllabus to hold real strategy will be disappointed.
The pacing is also uneven. Several lessons repeat the same action, clicking a background and swapping an image, multiple times without adding new information, while genuinely useful settings like mandatory form fields or store collections get a single quick pass. Mobile optimization is treated as an afterthought, a single lesson that amounts to switching to mobile view and eyeballing what looks broken, with no discussion of how mobile layout choices actually work in Wix's editor.
What the course does well is orientation. A complete beginner who has never touched a website builder will come away knowing where every major feature lives: pages, strips, the app menu, store settings, blog settings. The instructor's energy carries the pacing even when the content is thin, and the promise of answering questions in the course's Q&A section adds a layer of support beyond the video content itself. But anyone who has built a site on any platform before, or who wants real search optimization guidance, will find little new here. This is a beginner's map of the Wix interface, not a masterclass in the sense the title implies.
The standout
The footer walkthrough, which shows using a copyright line to link out to a second owned site as a simple backlink for search authority.
